Our hospital is certified as a recommended hospital that meets the standards of “Japan International Hospitals (JIH)” by Medical Excellence JAPAN. This certification promotes the international development of medical care by the Japanese government as one of the pillars of the “Japan Revitalization Strategy”, as visitors accepted in the hospitals in Japan from overseas.
Currently, 37 hospitals nationwide are certified as recommended hospitals. As the first recommended hospital in Ibaraki Prefecture, this hospital received JIH certification in 2016. As a national university hospital, seven facilities are certified: Yamagata University, University of Tokyo, Chiba University, Osaka University, Kobe University, Hiroshima University and University of Tsukuba.
In the future, the number of international patients is expected to increase. In order to continue to provide safe and secure medical care, the International Relations Office will continue to be in a central role to promote further improvements.
